The fourteen Oromo-speaking tribes of northern Kenya and southern Ethiopia, Founder and Leader of Marsabit Botanical Garden Galgallo Roba Guyo, and Founder and CEO of Delta Rising Foundation announce our plans to hold an Indigenous Peoples’ Conference. There exists significant interest in discussing topics such as:
* Climate Change Strategies,
* Eco-Agriculture, and
* Genetic and Plant Products

Delta Rising Foundation is honored to support Marsabit Botanical Garden in hosting this conference. We have supported initial work on The Marsabit Botanical Garden’s grounds as we prepare to hold an Indigenous Peoples’ Conference in winter 2023-24 or spring 2024.
One clear priority the communities have established is the importance of planting trees. The communities are now prepping trees to put in during the rainy season so that the root balls have an optimal chance to establish so as to minimize tree loss. Rainy season is approximately October 20, 2023 through December.
We seek to plant as many trees as possible especially in the early part of the rainy season.
