A Cosmologist-Led Journey to The Stars with Dr. Mandeep

We are proud to present family-friendly open-to-all “Astronomy for Friends” cosmological adventures with a world-class astrophysicist, professor, and observational cosmologist Dr. Mandeep!

Let’s LOOK UP and OUT and IN and learn about dark matter, dark energy, gravity waves, colliding neutron stars (that’s how metals are made!), coalescing black holes, and also how fast the universe is expanding away from us at our “raisin in the bread” location in the fabric of spacetime! From neutrinos to supercluster Laniakea (which means Infinite Heaven in Hawaiian), it’s been a great ride.

7.7% of the waste stream is textiles per the EPA. Orange County's recycling capacity decreased during pandemic. California spends over $70 million each year to landfill textile waste. Working together, Orange County, Its cities, California, corporate and individual philanthropy, and Delta Rising Foundation have the capacity to evolve greater solutions and so we will.

Please bring 100% Silk, Cotton, Linen (Flax), Wool, Hemp, and other 100% natural fiber textiles not appropriate for thrift for us to shred and compost to any event or just call 310 347 7659 to drop off in Garden Grove!

Increased Native and Drought-Resistant Plant Availability:
A Sustainability Action Program

We’re all about increasing access to native plants and drought-resistant plants. We agree with Bill Tallamy that stitiching together our “national park” by stewarding our properties and community properties in economical and environmentally-friendly ways is a wonderful way to increase native pollinators and work practically from where we live to restore native ecosystems.

NEW Online and Appointment-Only Nursery

This year we are opening our online and appointment-only nursery in Garden Grove, CA and can ship plants to straight to your home! We are also offering a “Gift a Native Plant or Tree” option so you can send a favorite to a friend and have it planted for them, if you wish — a perfect way to introduce new people to how wonderfully low-maintenance established natives are! We’re happy to help with suggestions for their specific zone.

SHOULD you have favorite native plants or trees you've been seeking you'd like for yourself or a friend, RIGHT NOW is the time to shine through and express your preferences as we're working on final selections from excellent native nurseries with whom we're so pleased to bring you the best available stock.
